After the grisly murder of one of his employees, senior manager of the local Glenview Costco store, Evan, decides to take action, forming a neighbourhood watch consisted of the fellow suburbanites and residents, Bob, Franklin, and Jamarcus. Not exactly police material, the unlikely band of hopeful protectors of justice in their fancy new jackets will soon have to deal with the unexpected when mysterious traces of a translucent green goo lead to the conclusion that earth is under an extraterrestrial threat. So, you'd better shape up boys, because, whether you like it or not, you're humanity's last chance. But, are Evan and the guys up to the job?
Four everyday suburban guys come together as an excuse to escape their humdrum lives one night a week. But when they accidentally discover that their town has become overrun with aliens posing as ordinary suburbanites, they have no choice but to save their neighborhood - and the world - from total extermination.
The Watch is pretty much Akiva Schaffers first film. It has an incredible line of up of actors and so i thought it looked good. Yes it does make you laugh, however the film is really messy, at one point you&#39;ll be laughing the next you&#39;ll be wanting to slap the person who wrote the next line or next scene. If you just let yourself enjoy it with out analysing each scene your sure to come out of the film thinking it was funny and enjoyable, however if you think about each scene and about the whole story then you realise it just wasn&#39;t a good film.<br/><br/>My Rating: 5.9/10
The Watch is a better than average comedy with a pretty stupid storyline ,but a very strong comedic cast make up for that. I felt this movie had so much more potential,the idea of Ben Stiller,Jonah Hill,Vince Vaughn and Richard Ayoade starting a neighborhood watch together and fighting against aliens sounded like something that could have been a really funny movie.However,I did think there were plenty of funny parts in this movie but nothing really that you would laugh twice at but I did find the dialogue between these four actors very enjoyable.I would recommend the Watch to anyone looking for a quick comedy but just don&#39;t expect to be laughing out loud.<br/><br/>When his friend is murdered,Evan (Ben Stiller) starts a neighborhood to catch the culprit,but they soon find it myth be more than just a human being.
It should be funnier. It should be better. Instead, it just sort of is.
